I realize there are lots of similar posts, however I have not found one that has worked for me unfortunately.
Basically, I have an asp:customvalidator that I am trying to add to a validationgroup with other validators so that all error messages appear in the same alert.
Here is the customvalidator The event isn't firing at all and I have no idea why.
Even though script-enabled browsers might prevent a postback from occurring on the client if a validation check has failed, you should always also check Page.
Is Valid in server code before processing validated data.
Maybe I'm just tired, but everything looks alright to me so an insight is appreciated.
If I drop a breakpoint anywhere in the server validation event it does not get hit when I click submit.
Custom Validators don't fire if other Validators in your ASPx are not validating. Validate("something"), with your specific validation group. I suggest look at On Text Changed event to force a page validate.

The standard validation messages would not be sufficient in all the cases and sometimes may require complex validations.
Imperative validation allows users to do this by Firing the validation from the Bean method In this type of validation we write a method in the bean to validate the UIComponents and invoke this method from the jsf page through a validator attribute in the input Text tag.
The validations that are fired using JSF standard validators or Bean validators fall under declarative type. Faces Context; @Managed Bean @Session Scoped public class Mobile implements Serializable Now Run the application which produces the following output.
Examples for JSF standard validators are Length validator, Required validator etc.. In this method we use @Faces Validator annotation, specify the name for the validator and implement the Validator by overriding the validate method.
